Hi, I’m Kelsy — wife, mama of two, and the heart behind Kelsy Shaffor Photography.
I’ve always been drawn to the in-between moments — the raw, honest, beautifully imperfect ones that tell a story words can’t. The way your little one reaches for your hand, the quiet laughter you share with your person, or that stillness right before you say “I do.” Those fleeting seconds — full of emotion and truth — are what inspire me most.

My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s shaped everything about how I see the world. After walking through a hard childhood and two brain surgeries, I carry daily reminders of Jesus’ faithfulness. In 2019, I gave my life to Him, and everything began to change — my heart, my purpose, and the way I create. He’s used every chapter — the pain, the healing, and the slow, sacred beauty of motherhood — to remind me that grace and goodness can always be found, even in the mess.

My two kids are my biggest inspiration. They’re the ones who pull me back to what’s real whenever I start chasing “perfect.” Through them, I’ve learned that the best moments aren’t staged — they’re lived. And that’s how I approach every story I photograph: raw, nostalgic, and true to life.

Now based in the Sacramento area, I serve families, couples, and small weddings throughout Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Auburn, Foresthill, Tahoe, and beyond. My work leans into a moody, film-inspired aesthetic — filled with grainy textures, timeless black and whites, and a storytelling style that feels like a memory you can hold.
